ACUPUNCTURE
Acupuncture originated in China over 2000 years ago and involves inserting fine, sterile needles into specific points in the body to stimulate healing.
In traditional Chinese Medicine it is believed that energy or 'qi' flows through the body in a series of 'meridians' and if this flow is out of balance, pain and illness can manifest. Acupuncture needles are used to stimulate the meridians, bringing the body back into balance.
Acupuncture is an holistic treatment aiming to treat Body, Mind and Spirit and can aid relaxation and stimulate healing alongside balancing the body.
What can acupuncture treat?
The World Health Organisation (WHO), recommends acupuncture for over 100 conditions including; pain relief, musculoskeletal conditions, anxiety, migraines, digestive issues, fertility issues, menopause issues, insomnia, fibromyalgia amongst many others.
I am a member of the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC) and the Association of Acupuncture Clinicians (AAC), professional bodies for acupuncturists in the UK.
I previously worked in a high pressure corporate role and realised the effect that stress was having on my body. I have always been interested in holistic therapies and I found acupuncture really helpful in reducing my stress levels and eventually I went on to train to help others.
My practice is very patient focused and I like to work with individuals to help them improve their health and wellbeing and I spend time really understanding their issues and concerns to offer the best treatments I can.
Please feel free to call me to discuss whether acupuncture can help you.
