Happy International Nurses Day

Happy International Nurses Day to all my wonderful nurse friends and colleagues and to all the nurses out there doing an amazing job!
I qualified as a nurse in 1996 initially working as a surgical nurse. I have since gone on to specialise initially in district nursing then 14 years ago I went into advanced practice and have worked as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) in general practice ever since.
4 years ago I decided to branch out into the wonderful world of medical aesthetics which I love.
Most people are surprised to hear that I still work as an ANP which I do two mornings a week.
I am so proud to be a nurse, it’s all I ever wanted to be since visited my Grandad in hospital as a young child and watching the nurses in admiration.
The picture is of me and my best friend Cathy who works along side me in the clinic. We have been friends since we were 4!! We’ve done absolutely everything together including having children at the same time and we both went into nursing at the same time. This year we will have been qualified nurses for 26 years!!
